Karacadağ Development Agency 2010 Financial Support Programs Şanlıurfa Information Meeting was held in Şanlıurfa Special Provincial Administration Meeting Hall on April 19th . Chairman of the Board of Agency and Şanliurfa Governor Nuri OKUTAN, Şanlıurfa Republic Lord Attorney Mustafa YALCIN, Şanlıurfa Mayor A. Esref FAKIBABA, Şanlıurfa Chamber of Commerce and Industry President E. Sabri ERTEKIN, Şanlıurfa Province General Assembly President Uğur BEYAZGÜL and many other guests attended to this meeting.
The meeting, at which Şanlıurfa Investment Support Office Specialist Ayşegül ÖZBEK was hosting, began with a minute's silence and Turkish National Anthem.
After the Regional Introduction Film, prepared by our agency, was presented, Secretary General Dr. İlhan KARAKOYUN performed the inaugural. While he was telling about the foundation and institutionalization of the Agency, in his speech he stated: “We had the inauguration of our building in Diyarbakır on December 5th 2009, with the attendance of two ministers. Then we began working on our Investment Support Office in Şanlıurfa and it launched on May 7th by the attendance of our Prime Minister to the inauguration. Consequently our agency is the unique development agency achieved to have all its Investment Support Offices actively operating except for Cukurova Development Agency which was founded by the pilot practice.
Dr Ilhan KARAKOYUN, who featured that the Agency has started working on Pre-Regional Development Plan immediately after completing inauguration of the service building, continued his speech as follows: “For these studies, we have ascertained the current situation of the region. Then we shared our evaluations with a participatory approach in the workshops both in Diyarbakır and Urfa with the participation of especially our development council, public agencies, private sector representatives, civil society organizations and professional organizations. We set two main short-term goals which will constitute the fundamentals of the supports to be provided by Karacadağ Development Agency in 2010. First of the goals is increasing the employment and the production level and second one is revealing the tourism potential of the region and developing the tourism infrastructure. In order to serve those aims, we agreed to implement two financial support programs in 2010 by the recommendations and decision of our Board of Directors. On April 17th, we had an opening meeting with the attendance of two ministers in Diyarbakır. Right after this meeting in Şanlıurfa, we will organize informational sessions in our all city districts. We will organize project preparation training sessions. Our aim is to put the employment creating sectors and tourism sector forward rapidly. Accordingly, we expect our investors to prepare impressive projects.
Şanlıurfa Governor Nuri OKUTAN told that Turkey is now in a new era, and some cities are becoming more important in this new structure. Şanlıurfa and Diyarbakır take place among those cities. In his speech: “I invite all our citizens, civil society organizations and entrepreneurs to prepare projects. I am sure that future is brilliant for us. I have no doubt that this region will be a very important centre of the country. May this opening bring goodness to our region.”
Afterwards, Agency Specialists Emine ARSLAN ve H. Salih ŞAHİN had a presentation about Karacadağ Development Agency 2010 Financial Support Programs. The meeting was ended by the question-answer session after the presentation.
