Our Region's Population Has Reached To 3,287,197

2011 Address-based Population Registration System results were announced by Turkstat.
Turkey's population has reached to 74,724,269 people with an increase of 1,001,281 people. The population growth rate of 15.88 ‰ in 2010 has decreased to 13.49 ‰.TRC2 Region's population has reached to 3,287,197 people with an increase of 94,868. The TRC2 Region's population growth rate of 29.28 ‰ is quite above the average of Turkey. Sanliurfa's population has reached to 1,716,254 with an increase of 52,883; while Diyarbakir's population has is 1,570,943 people with an increase of 41,985 people. Şanlıurfa has ranked 9th whereas Diyarbakır has ranked 12th in 81 provinces by population size.
Urban population in Diyarbakir increased to 71%
According to proportion of urban population in total population; Diyarbakir’s rate of urbanization increased by one point, which has reached to 71 %, Sanliurfa’s rate of urbanization is 55 %, which is the same rate in 2010. In Sanliurfa, rural population still has high increasing rates, which leads to low urban population rate. In 2011, urbanization rate of Turkey is announced to be 76.8 %.
