A group of businessmen from Diyarbakır made a study visit to Batumi in order to search for new markets. With the organization of Karacadağ Development Agency and Diyarbakır Organized Industry Businessman Association (DOSİAD), a delegation of 15 businessmen visited Batumi, Georgia between 11th and 14th May of 2013.

The delegation, including Karavil Group Chairman Abdulkadir Karavil and President of DOSİAD Aziz Özkılıç, met with Turkish Batumi Vice Consul Ertan Garip, Commercial Attache İsmail Volkan, President of Regional Investment Department of The Government of Ajara and visited the International Investor Association and the Batumi Chamber of Commerce.
DOSİAD Chairman Aziz Özkılıç said that the visit was very profitable for them. Özkılıç told that Businessmen from Diyarbakır had captured significant achivements in the Iraqi market and now they wanted to enter to the Caucasus market. He also added "in order to increase our foreign business volume, we definitely need to enter to new markets. In this context we made investigations in Batumi. Batumi is the gateway to the Caucasus market which is a candidate to provide us significant opportunities. Iraq is an important market but new markets should not be ignored. 15-person delegation held talks with senior officials in Batumi. It was very positive. Members of our two companies stayed there to make new interviews. One of our companies took action to establish a logistic  hub in Batumi in order to enter to Caucasus and Middle Asia markets."
Karavil: Batumi is Caucasus's Dubai
Karavil Group Chairman Abdulkadir Karavil said that Georgia is the gateway to a wide area  including, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Turkmenistan. Karavil added: "Batumi is the Caucasus's Dubai. Georgia's proximity to these markets, to have a vivid economy, good relations with Turkey offer us good conditions in terms of our business activities. In Georgia, we felt ourselves as we were in Turkey. We found a great potential here especially for Diyarbakır's pioneer industries; marble, construction chemicals, construction and food sectors. As businessmen, our search for new market will continue unabated. In the future, We want Karacadağ Development Agency to arrenge new study visits to countries including Iraq, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine."
