Associate Professor Murat Şeker Made A Presentation About Diyarbakır Life Quality

Our agency has organized a series of events within the scope of the International Diyarbakır Symposium organized under the leadership of the Governorship of Diyarbakır. Within the scope of the activities, Istanbul University Faculty of Economics Associate Professor Murat ŞEKER made a presentation on "Diyarbakır Life Quality Survey". Our Agency's Secretary General Hasan Maral, Faculty Members, students attended to meeting held at Dicle University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences seminar room. In the presentation, data on access to basic living services in Diyarbakır and all the districts were put forward.
ŞEKER indicated that the study revealed significant data and then stated that starting point of the this work and difference from similar works is; although studies that involving quality of life generally only involve the use of quantitative data, in this study, both quantitative and qualitative data will be used. Quality of life study is of great importance in terms of reflection of the both the current situation and perception related current situation. In conclusion, in this study, benefited from the concrete data that constitute the quality of life index and survey results to be detected perception directed to the quality of life. A total of 3,000 surveys were conducted in the TRC2 region and the survey was distributed in proportion to the province and district population.
As a result of the analyzes made, data will be the basis for the research, are grouped into 4 main categories; basic indicators, economic structure, environmental structure and urban and personal life titles. In the field of basic indicators; demographic structure, education, health, social life and safety data are compiled and sub indexes are produced. In the area of economic structure; economic capacity, commercial life, financial markets, tourism and agriculture sub-indices were compiled. In environmental structure title; Infrastructure, environment and transportation were compiled. The title of urban and personal life includes urban and personal satisfaction perception data. Thus, a total of 127 variables were included in the calculation of the index at district level in TRC2 Region.
