2011-2013 Regional Plan includes the necessary measures and strategies that must be followed for Economic and social development of Diyarbakır-Şanlıurfa Region has been introduced by Karacadag Development Agency to Diyarbakır Provincial Planning and Coordination Committee meeting.
TRC2 Region 2011-2013 Regional Plan Introduced to Public Authorities 2011-2013 Regional Plan includes the necessary measures and strategies that must be followed for Economic and social development of Diyarbakır-Şanlıurfa Region has been introduced by Karacadag Development Agency to Diyarbakır Provincial Planning and Coordination Committee meeting. In the presentation to the board members done by Zuhal Celebi, experts of Planning Programming and Coordination Unit of Agency, it is focused on the activities of institutions and organizations which work in the region and development axes and goals. The Plan that will give direction to distribution of National and regional resources and guide to investments in the region has been approved a while ago by Ministry of Development. In the presentation Zuhal Celebi addressed plan preparation process, the contributions of regional actors and policies determined by joint studies and shared region’s vision to board members. Vision of Region; “The region that using potential of tourism by protecting natural and cultural heritage, converting resources into the production and employment and improving the quality of life, Middle East’s growing trade center “Diyarbakır-Şanlıurfa”. It was expressed in the presentation that the Regional Plan founded on the four development axis with a structure, details the programs/actions which help to economic, social and spatial integration at national level and setting out local priorities. Development axes of Regional Plan are; for the economic development and to reduce unemployment and poverty in the region “Employment Capacity and Competitiveness”, for human development and social development “Human and Social Capital, Social Solidarity”, for spatial development and infrastructure “Spatial Organization of Region, the Quality of Life and Space” and for sustainable development “Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage”. The presentation ended up with showing thematic maps that provide information about the spatial representations contains policies related to development axes in Regional Plan. The Regional Plan also forms the basis of Financial Support Programmes which will be run by the Agency.
