Food Control and Research Centre was opened within Dicle University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with financial support of Karacadag Development Agency.
Center will meet a significant need in the food sector, and will be a first phase of the national and international certification in Diyarbakır. Food Control and Research Centre was opened at a ceremony that Deputy Minister of Ministry of Development Mehmet CEYLAN, Governor of Diyarbakır and Chairman of Administrative Council Mustafa TOPRAK, Secretary General of Karacadag Development Agency Dr. İlhan KARAKOYUN, University President Prof.Dr. Ayşegül Jale SARAÇ, Dicle University Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dicle University, Prof. Dr. Cengiz YALÇIN and Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Dicle University and Prof. Dr. Ferit Kemal SÖNMEZ attended. At the Ceremony, Coordinator of the Centre Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydın VURAL gave the information about the Centre. He mentioned that 30 new testing equipment purchased by the Agency support they could do all food analyzes, especially that was needed for the public procurement. Due to recent rapid development in the Agro-Based Industries, The Centre will be the center of food security of Diyarbakır. Our next target is to accredit the centre to achieve the ability to give national and international food qualification certificates.
