Karacadağ Development Agency, took action about the qualified work force, one of the most important issues in Sanliurfa, where the industry is developing rapidly in recent years. Agency experts and representatives of the business community in Sanliurfa visited Bursa Design and Technology Development Center (BUTGEM) which is founded and run by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Training Foundation.
In the regional plan, prepared by the Agency for Diyarbakır and Sanliurfa covering 2011-2013, under the regional vision, “Improving Work and Investment Environment" and " Development of Human Capital in accordance with Labor Force Demand” were determined as a strategic goal, thus the Agency started to work towards this goal. In addition, during the field studies that were carried out in Şanlıurfa and the meetings with industrialists, the issue of the skilled labor force was frequently raised.Domestic and foreign companies wishing to invest in Sanliurfa, were interested to learn about the existance of the qualified labor force. Therefore, the Agency initiated preparations of studies on a guided project on "Sanliurfa Technology Development and Practical Training Center” to train qualified task force of the Sanliurfa.Within the scope of these studies, one of the best practices, Bursa Design and Technology Development Center (BUTGEM), which was founded and operated by Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry Training Foundation, was visited by Sanliurfa Evren KSS Coop. Chairman Mustafa Arslan, the Secretary-General ŞUTSO Faruk Yasar, Sanliurfa MEKSA Coord. Didem Demirkol, Karacadag Development Agency Sanliurfa Investment Support Office experts Halil Çakallı and Yunus Colak. During the visit, detailed information was obtained from Mr. Muammar PAŞA, General Coordinator of BUTGEM, regarding BUTGEM's physical conditions, training with machines and technologies, the center’s management and business model. On the second day of the program Bursa Merinos Cultural and Convention Center SUKAY PARK projects were examined as an exemplary projects for Congress and Culture Centre and Water skiing projects, which are considered to be implemented within the scope of the Growth Centers Project in Sanliurfa.
