Spanish Water Company Agbar Seeking İnvestment İn Diyarbakir - Sanliurfa

Mr. Gonzalez reminded that Karacadağ Development Agency Administrative Board visited the AGBAR Company in Spain on February 2012 during their study-visit and that Agbar is conducting a return visit the RDA in TRC2 Region (Diyarbakir, Sanliurfa). Mr. Gonzalez cited that AGBAR has been operating in the water management infrastructure for 145 years, operating with 1,200 municipalities in Spain and 12 countries across the world. The company gets involved in all the processes of water management such as drinking water, disposal of waste water and subscribers management. He emphasized that despite the global economic crisis, Turkey’s strong position has offered Agbar new investment opportunities. He said “We had an opportunity to observe closely the impact of GAP to the development of the region during our visit to Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa. We appreciated the invitation of Karacadağ Development Agency and are very impressed with what we see.” Mr. Gonzales added that Agbar provides water management services to the municipalities in particular as well as to organized industrial zones, large industrial zones and with a wide range of services they have. He expressed important potential for investment after the interviews conducted with Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality and General Directorate of Diyarbakir Water and Sewage Administration officials. He suggested that Agbar can help the districts in Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa with water management. To this end, Agbar officials shall meet with the all district municipalities in coming period under the leadership of Karacadağ Development Agency. He said that Agbar can deliver turnkey projects if desired, while it can offer consultancy services or financing services under appropriate circumstances, and last of all, Agbar can offer new business opportunities for sub-contractor where invested.
