A Visit From Agency Management To Korea International Trade Association

Oh-Seuk Hyun, Head of the KDI, who accepted the council in his place,  stated the pleasure he felt and informed audience about researchs of the institute. Mustafa TOPRAK, the Diyarbakır Mayor, who was the head of the council informed about our country, Economical Developments  and Investments in Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa and Karacadag Development Agency. Dr. A. Ahmet Esref Fakibaba, the mayor of Sanliurfa, highlighted the importance of the historical and cultural potential Sanliurfa has. Then, A presentation about researches and the projects under process of KDI was made.Korea Development Institute (KDI) was established 1971, made important researches about economical and social development, has contribution on economical and social development on South Korea and has researches on other countries, has been accepted as the leading institution of the think tank institution. KDI runs empirical researches beside develops political offers depending on deeply analyzes of international and national economic conditions and counselling operations. KDI has joint researches with institutes such as Ministry of Development (formerly State Planning Organization) and KOSGEB. SME’s Lean in Export is a must in order to Develop!Another institution the council has visited is Korean International Trade Association (KITA). During the visit, A presentation on the establishment, working pattern, members and main activities of KITA was made by Ho Keun JANG, the director of KITA. The Association was established on the purpose of developing the economy by trade in 1946 and is the biggest trade institution of South Korea with over than 71.000 member companies. KITA, which is representing the interests of international investors, provides such kind of services like applied support, creating new trade strategies, coach trade specialists and create trade infrastructure.KITA, is a leading institution which helps SME’s, has contribution on Korean’s trade volume with its wide network, 11 domestic offices and 8 branches which is in the metropolis cities of foreign countries. After the presentation, during the Q&A section, the information on developments in Turkey’s economy, South Eastern Anatolian Project and its contribution on the region’s economy, the potential of renewable energy, agriculture and the industry based on agriculture by Mustafa TOPRAK, the mayor, as the spokesman of the council. Besides, he answered the questions of the KITA representatives about Activities of Karacadag Development Agency, the SME’s in the region and activities on giving the incentive them to export and stated leaning SME’s in export is a must. KITA and their members was invited to our region by the council.
