Unemployment, at the head of the most important problems of Diyarbakır was discussed by the experts. Public institutions-organizations in Diyarbakır, local authorities, universities and NGO representatives came together at “the Employment and Labour Market Diyarbakır Consultation Meeting”, organized by Karacadağ Development Agency within the framework of 2014-2018 Regional Plan preparation.

Following the presentations throughout the day, representatives of agencies shared their views on the following issues.

  • What kind of policies should be applied to support youth participation in the labor force market, employment and to safeguard the continuity of youth employment?
  • What should be done to encourage disabled people to participate in the labor force and to increase disabled participation in business life?
  • What should be the main precautions, new policies and project based works to decrease the unregistered employment rate to the reasonable level.
  • How can be solved the problem of unregistered employment in seasonable labor.

  • How to make compatible the curriculum and teaching methods of education institutions with the level of qualification required by labor force market.
