Training For The Grant Awarded Applicants From Diyarbakir And Sanliurfa

A training program was carried out for the representatives of private sector companies and institutions, awarded to be supported from the Karacadag DS’s 2013 Direct Financial Support Grant Programs. A total of 89 participants from the successful applicants of Economical Development, Tourism Infrastructure and Industrial Infrastructure Grant Programs have been trained in these sessions which were held both in Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa.
In the opening speech, Dr. İlhan Karakoyun, the secretary general of the agency, stated that in the realization of all awarded projects, we wished the beneficiaries to finish up the process with “zero problems”. Dr. Karakoyun also said that “As an granting institution, we have been promoting the private sector companies to pave their own ways, and the agency is going to give grants to a total of 70 companies from both Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa in the year 2013”. He also added that “many companies supported by our grant programs within last three years have enhanced their production capacity and the number of employees, apparently. Some of them have started to manufacture high technology products. Additionally, some have exported their goods for the first time”. Emphasizing the high amount of work done by the Agency within its three years history, Dr. Karakoyun also stated that “We, are implementing the granted projects together with contracted companies. To do that the agency assigns an expert from its staff for all projects. This person assists the firms during the project implementation period. We have a special wish for this year from the contracted companies to be on time in closing the projects. We also target that all projects will be realized at the end of this year. There is no financial deficit or problem in depositing the money for the projects. Actually, we haven’t experienced any problem arising from our part yet, as long as, the contracted firms follow their way of project implementation within pre-defined procedures.”
In the meeting, Abdullah Önder Özkul, Head of Karacadag DA’s Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, gave a detailed information about the situations need to be considered during the project implementation phase; followingly, Diyadin İnan, an expert of Agency, explained the principles of Project Implementation Guide and the Basis and Methods of Procurement, while another expert, Selçuk Menguverdi, presented the brand new DA’s Management System (KAYS), which is an online portal involving every stage of management of any grant program.
