Austria who has significant investments in Turkey wants to take the new opportunities in the region, particularly in Diyarbakir. Under Secretary of Commerce Konstantin BEKOS, met with Mr. İlhan KARAKOYUN-Secretary General of the Agency, Aziz ÖZKILIÇ- President of
Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Businessmen Association, Beşir YILMAZ-Vice President of Board of Directors of Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Zone, Serdar KARAVİL- General Manager of Karavil Group, Osman AKYIL- Vice President of Federation of Eastern and Southeastern Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association and Mehmet ASLAN- Secretary General of Diyarbakır Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Konstantin BEKOS said that: "We are active in Turkey with our offices in Ankara and İstanbul. Total investment of Austrian companies in Turkey reached to 5, 5 billion dollar in the last 3 years. Since this figure is very insufficient, we organize study visits for new investments. Diyarbakır is the most important city in the region with its location and potential. Also, its proximity to the markets in the Middle East and Central Asia provides us to hold meetings here. Austrian Companies realizing significant worldwide projects on oil, fuel, energy and transport sectors. We realize new investment opportunities in this region, mainly in Diyarbakir. In the coming period, we are planning to bring together the businessmen of Diyarbakır and Austria. We believe that the businessmen of two countries can make new investments in the region."
Aziz KILIÇ-President of Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Businessmen Association, said that; in the last period the representatives of foreign countries came to Diyarbakır for the investment opportunities and we are very pleased with that. The New Incentive System and peaceful atmosphere offers significant advantages to Diyarbakır. There are many companies in Turkey that wants to make new investments in the region and they apply for the land allocation in the Organized Industrial Zone. Beşir YILMAZ-Vice President of Board of Directors of Diyarbakır Organized Industrial Zone, said that meeting of the businessmen of the two countries for joint investment projects would be mutually beneficial.
