Visit To Karacadağ Development Agency From Delegation Of The United Nations

Secretary General of the Agency İlhan KARAKOYUN informed the delegation about establishment process of the Agency, duties of the Agency, supported projects in the region, activities of the Diyarbakir and Sanliurfa Investment Support Offices during the visit. Dr. KARAKOYUN stressed important investments carried out by the government in the region in recent years and the effects of these investments to the region's economic and social development, importance of the Southeast Anatolian Project for Diyarbakır and its contributions to the region, share of the agricultural sector in regional production and its importance for employment in the region during the meeting. In addition, talked about the advantage of the new incentive system for the region, growing interest of investors to Diyarbakır with new incentive system, the strategic importance of TRC2 Region and benefits of investing in TRC2 Region. Dr. Karakoyun has given detailed information about the importance of Master Plans, the role of the Agencies in  preparation of the Master Plan, works of Ministry of Development on Master Plans, current situation  and potential of Diyarbakır and Şanlıurfa, sectors provided support to mobilize this potential, the Agency's support for these sectors on the question of Kamal MALHOTRA Resident Representative about Master Plan of TRC2 Region prepared under the coordination of the Agency. The Resident Representative Kamal MALHOTRA stated that he was glad to learn Karacadağ Development Agency previously has done a number of common activities in the region in cooperation with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). In addition, he said that they want to share all development related experiences of UN acquired in the whole world with the agency and always ready for joint efforts and collaborations  can  be made in the future.
