Citadel Museum Complex was restored by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Diyarbakir Governorate through spending 26 million Liras and Ömer ÇELİK, Culture and Tourism Minister; Cevdet YILMAZ, Development Minister; Mehdi EKER, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Minister; Galip ENSARİOĞLU and Mine LÖK BEYAZ, Deputies of Justice and Development Party; Hüseyin AKSOY, Governor of Diyarbakir; Hasan MARAL, Deputy Secretary General of Karacadag Development Agency; Executives of the Institutions and representatives from NGOs attended to the opening ceremony of the Citadel Museum Complex.
At the opening ceremony, Minister YILMAZ stated that Diyarbakir could be a Manufacturing and Culture center of the Middle East. Minister EKER emphasized that Diyarbakir has witnessed a large number of civilizations for thousands of years. Minister ÇELİK underlined that we are the heirs of the all civilizations that lived on this land. He also added that it will be the biggest gospel for us that Hevsel Gardens and City Walls enters to the UNESCO list at the end of the July.
